Bruce

Bruce’s journey began in 2007 when he rediscovered yoga. After 4 Hot Yoga classes, he was hooked and convinced that yoga heals, so convinced that he and his wife opened their own yoga studio in California, which they operated for 10 ½ years prior to selling and moving to North Carolina late 2018. This ever-evolving path led Bruce to several styles of yoga training where he continued to discover and refine his authentic approach of guiding groups and individuals along their journey. During this time of deep listening to what his students would share from their mind, body and spirit, a strong interest in energetics occurred as his awareness grew that misalignments of the physical body were deeper than what one could see with the physical eyes.

Although Bruce was introduced to Reiki in 2007, the timing for his own personal awakening would not be until 2015 where he was fully activated when he received his first Reiki session from the woman who would become his first Reiki teacher. He became enthralled about becoming a practitioner to gain understanding of his experience with this high frequency energy and passionate to learn how he could utilize this power and direct the flow of its healing ability on himself and others. Bruce became a Master/Teacher in Usui, Tibetan, Karuna, Kundalini, Lightarian, Crystal, Shamanic and Shambala Reiki. He also channels another form of energy known as Seichim (Say-Keem/Power of the Pyramids) during healing sessions that streamed through on his second Reiki attunement. He feels blessed to continue discovering his gifts as clients share their profound experiences when working with him.

Bruce is a member of the International Association of Reiki Practitioners (IARP) and Reiki Healing Association (RHA). In 2013, Bruce met and became friends with master didgeridoo player and sound healing Shaman, Rafael Bejarano, (see video below). Rafael often played at Bruce and Jessilynn’s studio and they became like family. He inspired Bruce to learn to play (didge). Upon Rafael’s unexpected death in September of 2015, they longed to find a way to feel closer to him. Still mourning his loss, Bruce decided the only way he was going to learn and get good at playing didge was to just go for it. He ordered his first practice didge, sat down with YouTube and began the learning curve.

When Rafael’s parents came to visit and collect his belongings from the U.S., they invited Jessilynn and Bruce to the house they were staying at and asked if there was anything that they would like to have of Rafael’s as a remembrance of him. Of course, Bruce responded that he would love to buy one of Rafael’s didges! He was blessed with three of them. After 6 months of playing and sharing the sounds in his yoga classes, Bruce’s yoga students started asking him to teach them how to play! Bruce began to realize he had a natural talent for sound and began practicing with many instruments along with his wife Jessilynn, learning to weave together journey’s like the ones Rafael would guide them on.

Devoted students of this path, Bruce and Jessilynn received their Master Shaman Tibetan bowl training with Tibetan teacher Tok Tamang and completed Way of the Shaman journey training (Michael Harner’s work) with Amara Honeck. A true disciple of sound, Bruce asserts that when we become one with the sound, we can always tap into the magnificent healing source of energy available to us. These days Bruce teaches locally and travels to share his love and passion of sound and vibration, leading classes, workshops, trainings, retreats and offering private healing sessions and private instruction.
